Method 1: The Paper or String Method

This is the most common DIY method. It measures the circumference (the distance around) of the finger.

Tools Needed: A strip of paper (about 1cm wide), a pen, and a ruler with millimeter (mm) markings.

1. Wrap: Wrap the paper strip around the base of the finger you intend to wear the ring on.

2. Mark: Use a pen to mark exactly where the paper overlaps to form a complete circle.

3. Measure: Lay the paper flat on a ruler and measure the distance from the starting edge to your mark in millimeters. This is the finger circumference.
